The Device Management WG is working on Kubernetes support for GPUs, TPUs, NICs, and other specialized hardware through Dynamic Resource Allocation (DRA), which graduated to GA in Kubernetes 1.34. The group is now expanding DRA and related APIs for sharing, topology-aware scheduling, health monitoring, and multi-node device use.

The update affects CVE-2020-8561, CVE-2020-8562, CVE-2021-25740, and a formatting update for CVE-2020-8554; admins may see new scanner findings after the records are corrected.

Kubernetes v1.36 adds an alpha CCM route-controller metric, `route_controller_route_sync_total`, which counts cloud route syncs. It is meant to help validate the watch-based route reconciliation feature gate by comparing sync frequency against the existing fixed-interval loop.

Kubernetes 1.36 graduates the Mixed Version Proxy (feature gate `UnknownVersionInteroperabilityProxy`) to Beta and enables it by default. The feature now uses Aggregated Discovery, adds peer-aggregated discovery for unified API listings across control-plane nodes, and requires `--peer-ca-file` plus peer advertise settings for secure API server-to-server proxying.
